EDS was given a very tight time scale in which to complete the project as MCL needed to vacate their existing site, which was due for redevelopment and redeployed it's entire fleet to the new site overnight. Through detailed planning and preparation EDS ensured the project was brought in on time and on budget.
The remit was to supply a system capable of providing a "ring of security" around the whole site capable of providing security 24hrs a day and still maintaining access for authorised personnel. Together with security and safety systems for office based workers. EDS designed, supplied and installed an integrated system to protect not only the offices of MCL, but more importantly the yard with it's fleet of expensive trucks and lorries containing customers high value goods.
Detection devices are operational 24hrs a day with access only granted to personnel who have been granted permission through the Access Controlled automated entry gates and verified by the site CCTV system. Night-time drivers and that of subcontracted drivers are given unique tags allowing them access only at certain times to match that of the loading and unloading rotas.
An Intruder Alarm system monitors and protects the fabric of the building, together with an early warning Smoke & Fire Detection Systems covering office equipment and high value customer data, all of which are connected to EDS Secure Monitoring Centre.
Once the mains supply was connected EDS engineers installed local distribution boards, power sockets and general lighting, emergency lighting and external yard lighting scheme to provide adequate nightime lighting for loading and unloading.
