The Anthem of the Seas, owned by Royal Caribbean, has just arrived in the UK’s Southampton Docks, ahead of its naming ceremony, which will take place on April 20th. Bespoke Telescopic Cantilever Level Crossing Gates, or as Network Rail refer to them as Power Operated Sliding Barrier (POSB) on User Worked Crossings (UWCs) Network Rail and EDS deliver a first for the UK rail industry, bespoke cantilevered telescopic gates for level crossings. These state of the art automatic gates are designed to solve the problems caused by high winds (common to barriers and swing gates) at level crossings. EDSUK have won an order for the new National Express Flagship site in Birmingham, the order is for a complex Traffic Management System to direct coaches into dedicated bays and to prevent coaches movement without prior management intervention.   The scheme involves a completely bespoke traffic management system designed and developed from scratch by EDS. High speed automatic bifolding gates limit access into the site, with all necessary safety measures for pedestrian and vehicle safety. EDS are off to another flying start with an order from the Royal Naval Air Station RNAS Culdrose. RNAS Culdrose is responsible for the Operational and Advanced Flying Training of helicopter pilots, observers, aircrewmen, in subjects as diverse as search and rescue, weather forecasting, aircraft handling and other aviation specialist subjects.
